Mid-Senior Database Developer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Database Developer remote to join our dynamic Information Technology team at Signal49 Research. This role is crucial in managing all enterprise SQL databases across various departments, focusing on big data, reporting, and client-facing economic forecasts. As a Database Developer remote, you will support our transition to modern data platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Databricks, ensuring efficient data management and innovation.

What You'll Do

• Maintain, monitor, and support Microsoft SQL databases for sales, marketing, and research data.
• Manage SQL Agent jobs, SSIS integration packages, and stored procedures.
• Conduct performance tuning of SQL queries and automate job backups and mirroring.
• Support database setup for Power BI and SQL reporting dashboards.
• Assist in the design and management of secure solutions for current and future data systems.
• Automate database processes using SQL, Azure, and Power Automate.
• Collaborate with business units to gather requirements for new applications.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering high-quality and professional values.

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree in Computing, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in database management and data engineering.
• Strong SQL expertise, including data extraction from legacy systems and cloud databases.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools (SQL SSIS) and cloud data services (Azure).
• Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell and Python for automation.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
• Availability to work outside of regular hours as needed.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure DevOps or Git for database management.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, AI/ML, and security frameworks.
• Microsoft and ITIL certification.
• Bilingualism in English and French.
