Mid-Senior Cyber Security Engineer - Remote Opportunities
About the Role
We are seeking a Mid-Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our team at GE Vernova. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cybersecurity solutions for our customers, ensuring the safety and integrity of critical infrastructure. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will collaborate with technical leaders and system architects to develop and enhance our cybersecurity product suite. This position is not only pivotal for product development but also for supporting existing projects, making it a vital role in our organization.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with Technical Leaders, System Architects, and Product Security Leaders to formulate comprehensive product features and enhancement plans for GE Vernova's cybersecurity product suite.
- Implement and execute detailed design, development, configuration, and validation, including performance evaluations for new hardware and software releases.
- Prepare analytical reports for design reviews and draft product documentation to ensure compliance with cybersecurity regulations.
- Provide technical guidance on cybersecurity requirements and project-specific design to support fulfillment teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as a subject matter expert on cybersecurity regulations and standards such as IEC 62443 and NIST.
- Support the development of standard work processes related to cybersecurity standards within the gas power controls teams.
- Participate in the Scaled Agile Framework, defining the handoff scope concerning features and tasks to meet milestone dates established by the product owner.
- Manage multiple product and project development initiatives concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with security standards.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM major, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with network protocols and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Basic understanding of common cybersecurity tools (e.g., Wireshark, Metasploit).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in understanding Networking and Cyber Security principles.
- Experience in OT cybersecurity engineering or a similar role is required.
Nice to Have
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or equivalent.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a global team and communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
