Mid-Level Backend Engineer - AI-Driven ERP

About the Role

We are looking for a Mid-Level Backend Engineer to join our remote-first team at DualEntry. As a Backend Engineer remote, you will play a crucial role in building and owning critical features of our AI-native ERP system. This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the fastest-growing AI startups, where your contributions will directly impact the future of finance.

What You'll Do

• Own end-to-end execution for backend systems and infrastructure.
• Build APIs, services, and real-time systems that handle complex accounting logic.
• Collaborate with founders, product, and frontend engineering teams to transform complex workflows into secure, efficient systems.
• Design, implement, and ship production-ready features at high speed.
• Manage data migrations, scaling challenges, and external integrations to ensure end-to-end reliability.
• Drive measurable outcomes that enhance DualEntry’s product velocity and stability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend engineering.
• Strong skills in PostgreSQL, SQL, ORMs, migrations, and schema design.
• Experience with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure.
• Proven track record in high-growth, high-ownership environments.
• Strong API design and testing experience.
• Understanding of CI/CD, deployment, and production readiness.
• Fluent English (C1+) with clear communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Expertise in Python and modern frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
• Ability to manage complex systems with evolving requirements.

• Base Salary: $65,000 – $135,000 USD.
