Light Artist - Unity URP for Game Development
About the Role
We are seeking a talented Light Artist - Unity URP to join our dynamic game development team. As a Light Artist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the visual quality of our games by setting up and baking lighting in Unity URP. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to contribute to exciting projects from anywhere.
What You'll Do
- Configure and bake lighting in Unity URP, including lightmaps, light probes, and mixed/baked lighting for PC and console games.
- Work on scene setups, including exteriors (day/night) and interiors with artificial lighting.
- Set up visual effects and post-processing elements such as fog, bloom, volumetric light, color grading, and exposure adjustments.
- Optimize scenes using tools like Profiler and Frame Debugger to ensure high performance and quality.
- Understand composition, color theory, and the role of light in guiding player navigation and emphasizing key elements.
- Collaborate effectively with 3D, Level, and Tech Art teams to ensure the highest quality and FPS in your scenes.
- Take responsibility for the overall quality of lighting in your assigned scenes, ensuring they meet project standards.
- Continuously learn and adapt to new techniques and tools in Unity and lighting.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Light Artist in Unity, preferably with URP.
- Strong understanding of rendering and graphical optimization techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members across different disciplines.
- Portfolio showcasing relevant projects and your role in them.
- Experience with scene optimization and performance monitoring.
- Knowledge of lighting principles and their application in game design.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating visually stunning game environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with other game engines or rendering techniques.
- Familiarity with scripting in Unity.
- Knowledge of game design principles and player experience.
