Life Skills Coordinator - Remote Opportunity for Rehabilitation Programs
About the Role
Gateway Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated Life Skills Coordinator to join our team. This remote opportunity allows you to develop and coordinate life skills programming for our residential REST for Women program. As a Life Skills Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in helping patients navigate their recovery journey by providing essential skills and support.
What You'll Do
- Organize and implement community service activities for patients, ensuring proper documentation of hours performed.
- Engage with patients during community service, fostering a supportive and interactive environment.
- Document necessities passes for outside shopping and manage fundraising efforts to maintain the patient activity fund.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Life Skills curriculum, including GED training and job search planning.
- Conduct daily room inspections and address cleanliness with patients as needed.
- Facilitate therapeutic recreational activities and holiday events for patients.
- Implement evidence-based practices in therapeutic recreational activities.
- Provide coverage for counselor technician positions as necessary.
- Coordinate the purchasing and distribution of hygiene products and clothing to patients.
- Transport patients to off-site activities and establish relationships with community resources.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Pass PA Criminal Background Check and obtain Child Abuse and FBI Clearances.
- Valid driver’s license with a favorable driving record.
- CPR certification and flexibility regarding work schedule.
- Knowledge of life skills needs through life experience and/or training.
- Understanding of household budget planning and 12-step recovery programs preferred.
- Computer literacy and excellent organizational skills are preferred.
