About the Role

Gateway Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated Life Skills Coordinator to join our team. This remote opportunity allows you to develop and coordinate life skills programming for our residential REST for Women program. As a Life Skills Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in helping patients navigate their recovery journey by providing essential skills and support.

What You'll Do

  • Organize and implement community service activities for patients, ensuring proper documentation of hours performed.
  • Engage with patients during community service, fostering a supportive and interactive environment.
  • Document necessities passes for outside shopping and manage fundraising efforts to maintain the patient activity fund.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Life Skills curriculum, including GED training and job search planning.
  • Conduct daily room inspections and address cleanliness with patients as needed.
  • Facilitate therapeutic recreational activities and holiday events for patients.
  • Implement evidence-based practices in therapeutic recreational activities.
  • Provide coverage for counselor technician positions as necessary.
  • Coordinate the purchasing and distribution of hygiene products and clothing to patients.
  • Transport patients to off-site activities and establish relationships with community resources.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Pass PA Criminal Background Check and obtain Child Abuse and FBI Clearances.
  • Valid driver’s license with a favorable driving record.
  • CPR certification and flexibility regarding work schedule.
  • Knowledge of life skills needs through life experience and/or training.
  • Understanding of household budget planning and 12-step recovery programs preferred.
  • Computer literacy and excellent organizational skills are preferred.
