About the Role

We are seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team at RS Software. This Junior DevOps Engineer remote position offers the chance to work on cutting-edge payment solutions that impact billions of people. You will be integral in designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to support application delivery.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to support application delivery.
  • Support and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure platforms.
  • Deploy, monitor, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Perform basic system administration tasks on Linux servers (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
  • Monitor application and infrastructure health using logging and monitoring tools.
  • Automate routine operational tasks using shell scripting.
  • Assist in incident troubleshooting, issue resolution, and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure smooth and reliable deployments.
  • Maintain infrastructure, deployment, and operational documentation.
  • Adhere to security, compliance, and best practices across environments.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of Linux environments (RHEL / Ubuntu / CentOS).
  • Hands-on experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of cloud services, including compute, networking, and storage (EC2, VPC, IAM, Load Balancers, S3, EFS).
  • Practical experience with Docker.
  • Basic understanding of Kubernetes concepts such as pods, services, and deployments.
  • Shell scripting – mandatory for automation and operational tasks.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK stack).
  • Basic networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing).
  • Awareness of security best practices, including IAM, firewall rules, and secrets management.
