Integration/​System Services Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Integration/System Services Engineer remote to join our dynamic team at Gromelski & Associates, Inc. (GAI). In this role, you will perform integration tasks that merge complex hardware solutions with custom non-commercial software programs. You will be responsible for installing newly developed software enhancement and improvement packages while isolating the source of system operational performance deficiencies, whether they stem from software or hardware problems. As an Integration/System Services Engineer remote, you will test, debug, and modify custom software applications as part of a collaborative team focused on overall systems software development and improvement processes.

What You'll Do

  • Debug, troubleshoot, and develop utilities to resolve software and hardware compatibility and operability issues.
  • Implement and customize common commercial and open-source tool suites.
  • Perform and support system hardware assembly and software integration in both laboratory environments and customer locations.
  • Follow and execute procedures for installation, recovery, checkout, and testing.
  • Work closely with software developers to run unit tests and maintain/modify code coverage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Strong experience at the Linux command line.
  • Ability to integrate software and hardware in complex systems.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance.

Nice to Have

  • Sound knowledge of Java/C++ development and its relation to testing.
  • Experience in an Agile/Sprint release planning environment.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting HW/OS/Drivers/Firmware/Network issues.
  • Understanding of automated build processes and code management techniques.
