Intake Specialist - Remote Healthcare Administration

What You'll Do
- Accurately enter referrals within the established timeframe, meeting productivity and quality standards.
- Communicate with referral sources, physicians, and associated staff to ensure documentation is routed appropriately.
- Work with leadership to ensure appropriate inventory and services are provided to patients.
- Collect payments from patients and document their financial responsibilities accurately.
- Review medical records for compliance standards prior to service delivery.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of payer guidelines and read clinical documentation to determine qualification status.
- Supervise and provide guidance to team members, leading team meetings and training sessions.
- Prepare reports and analyses on team performance and operational metrics.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- One year of work-related experience in healthcare administration, customer service, or insurance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and healthcare software applications.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a healthcare organization or pharmacy that bills insurance.
- Knowledge of Medicare guidelines and payer policies.
- Experience with EMR systems.
