About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Infection Prevention Nurse (LPN or RN) to join our team remotely. This Infection Prevention Nurse role is crucial for overseeing and maintaining our Infection Prevention and Control Program in our skilled nursing facility. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on resident safety and quality of care while working part-time with a flexible schedule.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage the facility Infection Control Program to ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state regulations.
  • Conduct infection surveillance, tracking, trending, and outbreak management to maintain high standards of health and safety.
  • Provide infection control education and monitor staff adherence to best practices.
  • Chair the Infection Control Committee and report data to Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI).
  • Support staff education, competency validation, and clinical orientation as assigned.
  • Assist with employee health requirements including TB screening, flu vaccination tracking, and illness monitoring.

Requirements

  • Current LPN or RN license in good standing.
  • Three (3) years of nursing experience, with at least one (1) year in a long-term care environment.
  • Infection prevention experience is preferred; certification is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are essential.
  • Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing; BSN degree preferred.
  • Current CPR certification and valid CPR teaching certificate preferred.
  • Must meet state background check requirements prior to resident contact.

Nice to Have

  • One (1) year experience as an instructor preferred.
  • One (1) year acute care experience preferred.
