Graduate Associate Project Manager - Strategic Infrastructure
About the Role
We are seeking a Graduate Associate Project Manager to join our team at National Grid, focusing on Strategic Infrastructure. As a Graduate Associate Project Manager, you will gain hands-on experience in managing critical electricity transmission projects under the Ofgem’s Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) framework. What You'll Do
- Support the delivery of major electricity transmission projects, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
- Collaborate with experienced Project Managers across engineering, procurement, commercial, and construction activities.
- Develop skills in commercial, contractual, and financial management while contributing to innovative design solutions.
- Assist in maintaining the Quality Management System and supporting quality assurance processes.
- Monitor contractor activities on-site, ensuring compliance with National Grid’s Safety, Health & Sustainability standards.
Requirements
- A minimum 2:2 degree in Planning, Urban & Regional Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, or closely related fields.
- Flexibility to travel regularly to various project sites and locations across the UK.
- A valid UK driving license or completion of the theory test with a practical test booked.
- Strong desire to learn and apply project management principles in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
Nice to Have
- Experience or coursework related to project management or energy infrastructure.
- Membership or interest in the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
