About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled General Counsel / Head of Legal to join our dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. As the General Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our legal strategy and ensuring compliance across our operations. This position offers the unique opportunity to influence the legal framework of our SaaS business while working remotely.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the legal department, providing strategic legal advice to the executive team and stakeholders.
  • Oversee all legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions, ensuring compliance with corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage contract negotiations and legal operations, focusing on SaaS contracts and data privacy regulations.
  • Implement AI tools and automation in legal processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address legal issues related to IT systems, compliance, and risk management.
  • Provide guidance on corporate law, investment fund law, and private equity structuring.
  • Advise on tax strategy and Delaware limited partnerships.
  • Foster a culture of legal awareness and compliance within the organization.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a legal role, with a focus on corporate law and M&A.
  • Proven experience as a General Counsel or in a similar leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge of SaaS contracts, data protection, and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience with AI integration in legal operations is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in B2B marketing and social media management.
  • Familiarity with cloud engineering and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as TypeScript, Node.js, or Golang.
