About the Role
We are seeking a Founding Software Engineer - AI (Python/Typescript) to join our innovative team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a deeply technical AI-native startup founded by PhDs and researchers from prestigious institutions. As a Founding Software Engineer, you will help build the next generation of reasoning tools powered by large language models. This position is based in London, and while it is not remote, we provide £10K for relocation to support your move.
What You'll Do
- Architect and scale LLM-powered applications that push the boundaries of AI technology.
- Build efficient inference pipelines and backend infrastructure to support high-performance systems.
- Work across the stack to ship production-grade code quickly and efficiently.
- Collaborate directly with the founders and early technical hires to shape the product's direction.
- Engage in meaningful AI challenges that require deep technical expertise and innovative thinking.
Requirements
- A degree from a world-leading university (e.g., Cambridge, Oxford, ETH Zurich).
- Experience in AI-focused products, ideally within a high-growth or research-heavy environment.
- Strong Python engineering skills; full-stack capability with Postgres, Typescript, and React is a bonus.
- A bias toward action, autonomy, and technical depth.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and tackle complex technical problems.

- Experience with large language models and AI reasoning tools.
- Familiarity with open-source tools and contributions to the AI community.
