About the Role

We’re looking for a Founding DeFi Engineer to join our innovative team at Albert Bow. This role offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while also providing relocation support to Dubai. As a Founding DeFi Engineer, you will design and scale the infrastructure that powers on-chain trading, automation, and real-time decision-making. This is not just a maintenance role; you will be building production trading infrastructure from scratch, making architectural decisions, and determining where performance enhancements are necessary.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop core Python services that drive DeFi trading and automation.
  • Implement real-time blockchain ingestion and event processing systems.
  • Integrate with smart contracts and DeFi protocols.
  • Create internal microservices for execution, monitoring, and control.
  • Establish low latency paths where performance is critical, with opportunities to introduce Rust.
  • Utilize AI tools to enhance workflows and accelerate development without compromising quality.

Requirements

  • Strong experience as a Python engineer with a focus on async systems, concurrency, performance tuning, and clean architecture.
  • Deep understanding of DeFi concepts, including AMMs, MEV, and on-chain execution behaviors.
  • Proven experience in building real-time, production-level distributed systems.
  • Ability to read and reason about Solidity smart contracts.
  • Familiarity with modern development tools and AI technologies (e.g., Claude, Codex, Cursor).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Rust programming language.
  • Previous work in a startup environment.
  • Knowledge of blockchain security practices.
