Electrical & Instrumentation Technician - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are currently seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician remote to join our team. This role is based in Karratha, Western Australia, a key community in the region with a resource focus and a relaxed, friendly lifestyle. As an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician remote, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the achievement of defined maintenance quality standards and meeting planned maintenance and operational requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Carry out corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair complex equipment faults and breakdowns.
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and update job status, hours, and technical findings in SAP/CMMS.
  • Monitor work progress against plans and report any deviations to the Maintenance Supervisor/Planner.
  • Perform commissioning checks in line with guidelines and with the asset owner when required.
  • Identify and report recurring failures or downtime trends.
  • Support shutdown and turnaround maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • WA-recognised Electrical trade qualification and eligibility for an Electrical Licence Certificate IV in Instrumentation (or equivalent).
  • EEHA competencies and High Voltage switching training.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in petrochemical, gas processing, oil refining, or similar heavy industry.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and basic proficiency in the MS Office suite.
  • Good understanding of relevant industry standards, regulations, and environmental practices.
  • Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency. Temporary work visa holders are not eligible for this role.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in renewable energy projects.
  • Knowledge of automation systems.
  • Familiarity with safety management systems.
