Electrical & Instrumentation Technician - Remote Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician remote to join our team. This role is based in Karratha, Western Australia, a key community in the region with a resource focus and a relaxed, friendly lifestyle. As an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician remote, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the achievement of defined maintenance quality standards and meeting planned maintenance and operational requirements.
What You'll Do
- Carry out corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Diagnose and repair complex equipment faults and breakdowns.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and update job status, hours, and technical findings in SAP/CMMS.
- Monitor work progress against plans and report any deviations to the Maintenance Supervisor/Planner.
- Perform commissioning checks in line with guidelines and with the asset owner when required.
- Identify and report recurring failures or downtime trends.
- Support shutdown and turnaround maintenance activities.
Requirements
- WA-recognised Electrical trade qualification and eligibility for an Electrical Licence Certificate IV in Instrumentation (or equivalent).
- EEHA competencies and High Voltage switching training.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in petrochemical, gas processing, oil refining, or similar heavy industry.
- Working knowledge of SAP and basic proficiency in the MS Office suite.
- Good understanding of relevant industry standards, regulations, and environmental practices.
- Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency. Temporary work visa holders are not eligible for this role.
Nice to Have
- Experience in renewable energy projects.
- Knowledge of automation systems.
- Familiarity with safety management systems.
