About the Role

WebstaurantStore is seeking a talented Data Scientist - Marketing to join our dynamic team. This remote Data Scientist position offers you the opportunity to leverage your analytical skills to uncover actionable insights that drive business growth and optimization. As part of our Data Science team, you will play a crucial role in shaping our marketing strategies through data-driven decision-making.

What You'll Do

  • Advise on analysis and modeling techniques for both structured and unstructured data, developing custom analytics models that generate insights for our customers.
  • Collaborate with analytics engineers to gather necessary information from various sources to implement advanced statistical methodologies.
  • Conduct exploratory analyses including hypothesis testing and statistical inference to support marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain and update Media Mix Models (MMM) and Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA) models, ensuring they accurately reflect current marketing spend.
  • Design and analyze experiments to improve attribution models and drive marketing effectiveness.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate complex challenges into effective data science solutions.
  • Develop processes that monitor and enhance model performance and data accuracy.
  • Research new tools and technologies to stay current with analytics best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Data Science or a PhD in a related quantitative field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with a strong foundation in statistical methods.
  • Hands-on experience with experimentation frameworks, including incrementality testing and causal inference.
  • Proven ability to partner with marketing teams to design and analyze experiments that inform budget allocation.
  • Experience building and refining Media Mix Models and Multi-Touch Attribution models.
  • Ability to communicate complex model outputs in a clear and credible manner to stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with supervised/unsupervised learning methods and a demonstrable portfolio of machine learning projects.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a full-stack data science role, optimizing and scaling models for production environments.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to innovate data science solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
