About the Role

Join Experian as a Data Science Intern - Remote and kickstart your career in data science. In this role, you will work under the guidance of the Lead ML Engineer to analyze large datasets and apply machine learning techniques. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data mining, statistical analysis, and the development of data-driven models.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze large datasets using machine learning and statistical techniques.
  • Design efficient data structures and storage systems to optimize data handling.
  • Develop data-driven models to measure the value of data and conduct Return on Investment analysis.
  • Collaborate with team members to establish best practices for data usage.
  • Manage independent assignments and influence project outcomes through your contributions.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders by understanding their requirements and goals.
  • Share knowledge with team members and actively participate in the analytics community.

Requirements

  • Up to a year of experience in the Data Science field.
  • University degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of probability, statistical inference, and optimization algorithms.
  • Experience with analytical techniques such as regression analysis, machine learning, AI, and deep learning.
  • Familiarity with model cross-validation techniques and statistical significance tests.
  • Ability to write code in Python and experience with SparkSQL.
  • Understanding of modern big data technologies, including the Apache family (Hadoop, Spark).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms for data processing.
  • Previous internship experience in a related field.
