About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Protection Engineer to join our team remotely. As a Data Protection Engineer, you will play a crucial role in implementing data-centric security controls as part of our Zero Trust initiative. This position is essential for ensuring the protection of sensitive data across various environments, including commercial cloud capabilities and classified networks.

What You'll Do

  • Implement Microsoft Purview solutions to classify and protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
  • Configure and manage Digital Rights Management (DRM) tools such as Virtru or Kiteworks for encryption and access control on classified networks.
  • Transition security policies from monitoring to blocking mode, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure data protection measures are effectively enforced across all endpoints.
  • Support the transfer of policy updates to air-gapped environments, maintaining configuration consistency.

Requirements

  • Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and data protection policies.
  • Experience with enterprise encryption and Rights Management tools.
  • Strong understanding of data classification methodologies and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Trellix DLP products.
  • Knowledge of data discovery tools like NetApp BlueXP or BigID.
  • Prior experience in supporting USSOCOM or SIPRNet systems.
