Clinical Therapist - Schools Plus Mental Health (Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Therapist to join our Schools Plus Mental Health initiative. This role focuses on providing mental health services in a school environment, making a significant impact on the lives of children and adolescents. As a Clinical Therapist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively to deliver comprehensive mental health support.
What You'll Do
- Provide individual and group therapy to students, focusing on early identification and intervention for mental health disorders.
- Collaborate with families and school staff to develop and implement care plans that are sensitive to the needs of each child.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the mental health needs of students.
- Act as a liaison between the school, families, and mental health services to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of mental health services within the Schools Plus framework.
- Utilize evidence-informed therapies to address mental illness, substance use disorders, and concurrent disorders.
- Engage in crisis intervention and risk assessment as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided and outcomes achieved.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a clinical health-related discipline (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counseling).
- Current registration with the relevant provincial regulatory body.
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience in mental health settings.
- Knowledge of DSM V criteria for mental health disorders.
- Experience in providing evidence-informed therapies and crisis intervention.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in multiple software applications.
- Competencies in additional languages, particularly French, are an asset.
