Chief of Staff to the CEO - Remote Role at Spruce
About the Role
We are seeking a Chief of Staff to the CEO to join our dynamic team at Spruce. This remote role is pivotal in enhancing the effectiveness of our CEO by managing priorities and bandwidth. As a Chief of Staff, you will operate in a fast-paced environment where you will be expected to switch between strategic discussions and tactical tasks seamlessly. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our operations run smoothly while also contributing to our mission of building privacy-preserving digital identity solutions.
What You'll Do
- Deal & Pipeline Support: You will own CRM hygiene, prepare the CEO for meetings, draft follow-up emails, and track opportunities to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
- AI-Driven Process Improvement: You will identify opportunities for AI to enhance our workflows, such as building monitoring pipelines for legislative changes and setting up AI-assisted meeting prep workflows.
- Strategic Research & Synthesis: You will monitor developments in the govtech and digital identity landscape, synthesizing information into digestible briefs for the CEO.
- Communications & Content Leverage: You will draft, edit, and polish communications that position the CEO as a thought leader, including policy memos and blog content.
- Cross-Functional Gap-Filling: You will manage various tasks across different contexts, from hiring processes to event preparations.
- Travel: You will be based in the U.S. (preferably NY metro) and willing to travel as needed to meet with government clients and attend company events.
Requirements
- 5-8+ years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, or business development within a technology company.
- Exceptional written communication skills, with experience drafting on behalf of executives.
- AI-native mindset, with a focus on workflow automation and leveraging AI for efficiency.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to context-switch effectively.
- Familiarity with government or regulated industries, understanding procurement cycles and bureaucratic processes.
- High agency and low ego, willing to take on various tasks regardless of their nature.
Nice to Have
- Experience in government relations or public policy.
- Knowledge of digital identity technologies and trends.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and AI applications.
