Billing Accounting Specialist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Billing Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team at Verisk. This remote Billing Accounting Specialist role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our invoicing process within a fast-paced environment. As a Billing Accounting Specialist, you'll be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and issuing invoices in alignment with company policies and customer agreements.

What You'll Do

• Conduct thorough contract reviews to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Maintain and update pricing schedules in our systems.
• Perform revenue recognition assessments and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Coordinate with Accounting & Accounts Payable regarding supplier invoicing.
• Manage customer onboarding, including creation and maintenance of customer profiles in the system.
• Reconcile billing systems to source data for accuracy.
• Create and process daily billing transactions efficiently.
• Maintain and update revenue deferral schedules to reflect accurate financial data.
• Process credits and rebills accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform daily accounts receivable collections and follow-up on outstanding invoices.
• Monitor and coordinate customer support queries related to billing.
• Liaise with operational teams regarding the billing process to ensure smooth operations.
• Engage in process improvement initiatives to enhance billing practices.
• Ensure compliance with SOX internal controls.
• Set up and maintain contract records in the ERP system to support timely and accurate revenue recognition.
• Prepare and generate billing upload files for import into the billing system.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in a similar transactional billing role.
• Experience working in an international team.
• Working knowledge of Business Central is strongly preferred.
• Experience with large ERP systems is required; Oracle Fusion experience is beneficial.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work with local teams and across regions (US/UK/Europe).
• Excellent attention to detail and a sense of ownership in your work.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Effective documentation, teamwork, and communication skills are required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting is required.
• Fluency in English and Swedish is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Nice to Have

• Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls.
• Familiarity with data analytics tools.
