About the Role

We're hiring an AI Engineer/Researcher to join our innovative team at Wave Talent. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on advanced AI systems that model and simulate complex real-world behavior at scale. As an AI Engineer/Researcher, you will contribute to building a platform that enables organizations to test decisions and strategies using large-scale AI-driven simulations, significantly reducing time-to-insight compared to traditional methods.

What You'll Do

  • Formulate research questions about human and agent behavior.
  • Design experiments on synthetic populations to validate model behavior against real-world data.
  • Decide on architectures and methods that should exist, not just implement them.
  • Collaborate with a small, highly technical team focused on large language models and scalable backend infrastructure.
  • Ensure the underlying platform is performant, cost-efficient, and production-ready.

Requirements

  • PhD/MSc or substantial research experience in AI, ML, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent, hypothesis-driven research.
  • Strong grounding in experimental design, statistical validation, and quantitative evaluation.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals in Python and backend frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
  • Hands-on experience with ML/AI models, including LLMs, NLP, or simulations.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity, where the right question is often unclear at the start.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with fine-tuning workflows, model optimization, and experiment tracking.
  • Experience with multi-agent systems, simulations, or agent-based modeling.
  • Experience building workflows/agents on top of existing models.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, containerization, and deploying ML systems to production.
  • Experience working in fast-moving environments with evolving requirements.
