2D Game Artist Co-op Intern - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are excited to offer a Remote 2D Game Artist Co-op Intern position at A Thinking Ape. This role is perfect for current art students at Canadian post-secondary institutions graduating after September 2026. As a 2D Game Artist Co-op Intern, you will gain invaluable experience in a mobile game studio while contributing to the production of our popular game, Party in My Dorm. You'll work closely with our talented team of artists in the Creative department, creating art that will be enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of players.
What You'll Do
- Create high-quality 2D art assets for Party in My Dorm, including characters, items, and backgrounds.
- Develop concepts, references, and pitch documents for future content releases.
- Collaborate with team members, seeking feedback and demonstrating a willingness to learn.
- Participate in the entire mobile game production pipeline, gaining hands-on experience.
- Engage with current trends in pop culture and fashion to inspire your artwork.
Requirements
- Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in a related field.
- A 2D art portfolio showcasing creativity and strong art fundamentals, particularly in human anatomy, character design, and color theory.
- Experience working with Adobe Photoshop.
- A keen interest in current trends in pop culture and fashion.

- Familiarity with game design principles.
- Experience with other art software or tools.
- Previous internship experience in a creative field.
