Senior Narrative Designer - Remote Opportunity in Gaming
About the Role
We are seeking a talented Senior Narrative Designer to join our dynamic team at Dambuster Studios. This Senior Narrative Designer remote position allows you to work from the comfort of your home in the UK, or you can choose a hybrid model from our Nottingham studio. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the narrative vision of our games, particularly following our success with the BAFTA-nominated title, Dead Island 2.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate closely with the Narrative Lead and Narrative Director to define narrative goals and ensure alignment across the team.
- Take ownership of narrative projects, including quests and cinematic moments, from conception to execution, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.
- Write engaging dialogue and narrative content that resonates with players and fits our unique tone.
- Work with various departments such as Level Design, Game Design, and Animation to integrate narrative seamlessly into gameplay.
- Mentor junior narrative designers, sharing your expertise and fostering their growth.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide constructive feedback during reviews.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of narrative design processes and methodologies.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to keep our narratives fresh and compelling.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Narrative Design, showcasing a strong portfolio of work.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven experience in creating compelling narratives and gameplay mechanics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Familiarity with game development processes and the ability to adapt to feedback and constraints.
- A passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of what makes narratives engaging in games.
Nice to Have
- Experience in action/horror genres.
- Technical proficiency with game engines or associated tools.
