About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Lead Security Engineer for our Security Operations team at Coinhako. This role is pivotal as you will manage and strengthen both our defensive and offensive security capabilities in the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency space. As a Lead Security Engineer, you will oversee incident response, monitoring, and penetration testing, ensuring our systems remain secure and resilient. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of security excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and mentor two sub-teams focused on defensive and offensive security operations.
  • Oversee hiring, training, performance evaluations, and career development for team members.
  • Establish operational discipline and technical excellence across both teams.
  • Develop and track goals and SLAs related to security operations.
  • Engage with stakeholders on audit engagements and product development initiatives.
  • Oversee daily security operations, including monitoring, alert triage, and detection tuning.
  • Serve as the incident commander for security incidents, coordinating cross-functional responses.
  • Review incident reports and ensure proper remediation actions are implemented.
  • Manage the full vulnerability lifecycle and ensure timely resolution of vulnerabilities.
  • Lead the Red team and define the annual offensive testing strategy based on risk and compliance needs.
  • Translate offensive security observations into actionable defensive improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in security operations and offensive security.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in the Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, or Fintech domains.
  • Ability to communicate technical security issues clearly to executives and engineers.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and planning skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in a crypto exchange, blockchain company, or high-risk trading platform.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, OSCP, OSWE, GCIH, or CCSP.
