Lead Full Stack Engineer - Insights Team (Remote)

About the Role

SoundCloud is seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer - Insights Team to join our innovative team remotely. As a Lead Full Stack Engineer, you will take technical ownership of the tools that help the music industry discover its next stars. This position is a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing, multi-disciplinary squad focused on our strategic B2B products: the Artist & Repertoire (A&R) Dashboard and Fan Insights. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of music through technology.

What You'll Do

• Own the end-to-end technical roadmap for the A&R and Fan Insights platforms, designing scalable and secure systems capable of handling massive datasets.
• Act as the technical lead for a small, expert squad, leading by example through architectural clarity and rigorous peer reviews.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to define requirements, turning vague business "wants" into concrete technical "hows."
• Ensure high technical standards across both Frontend and Data disciplines, maintaining the overall technical health of the codebase.
• Champion "AI-native" development, leveraging modern tools to multiply the team's impact and identify high-value opportunities for agentic capabilities.
• Manage deployment patterns and infrastructure as code (Terraform), ensuring adherence to modern security standards.
• Utilize agentic workflows and AI-assisted engineering to work at 10x the speed of traditional methods.

Requirements

• Proven experience architecting and scaling robust backend systems and high-performance services.
• Proficiency in Scala or Golang for building reliable services, with a strong understanding of Big Data storage and querying (e.g., BigQuery, SQL).
• Comfort with Next.js and React to drive architectural decisions and ensure best practices.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and container orchestration.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with modern agentic tools to accelerate work and a passion for the future of agentic software.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS ECS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with Python and data orchestration via Airflow.
• Experience with large-scale data warehouses like BigQuery.
