About the Role

We are seeking a talented Cryogenic Systems Engineer to join our innovative team at The Exploration Company. This remote Cryogenic Systems Engineer position plays a crucial role in the design and validation of cryogenic fluid and propulsion-related system architectures for safe and efficient refueling operations in orbit.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute to the development of concepts and preliminary architectures for cryogenic fluid transfer and storage systems operating in orbit.
  • Support the definition of cryogenic fluid management and refueling system requirements and contribute to system requirement flow-down.
  • Perform preliminary pressure drops, flowrate, and pressurization analyses while evaluating system performance under microgravity conditions.
  • Collaborate with thermal and CFD engineers for coupled analyses and modeling activities.
  • Contribute to safety assessments related to pressurization, venting, and cryogenic fluid handling.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in the space sector, particularly in early development phases (Phase 0/A/B).
  • A solid understanding of cryogenic fluid systems and propulsion-related architectures.
  • Experience with engineering analysis tools (e.g., EcosimPro, ANSYS, FLOW-3D) or custom Python/Matlab scripts.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with space engineering standards (ECSS, NASA or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of German, French, or Italian.
